Once you have decided that it's time for you to do a journey, it can still be daunting since you don't know what to expect.
Whereas it is impossible to predict what your journey itself will look like, as it is so very varied from person to person, as well as a person's individual journeys from one time to the next, let me go through what a 1-to-1 retreat looks like with A New Day Retreats.
You can either choose to just do the ceremony with us and stay at a hotel, or you can spend the night before and/or after your ceremony at the retreat. (Depending on availability. Prices are in the FAQ section.)
If you choose to stay at a hotel in the vicinity (Altea/Albir are nice options), we will pick you up there before your ceremony, usually around 10:30-11:00 in the morning, and drop you off after, usually around 18:00-18:30 in the evening.
If you stay at the retreat, we will pick you up and drop you off at public transportation in Benidorm (easy to get to from Alicante airport, or you can book a pickup at the airport, prices are also in the FAQ section.)
It is highly, highly, highly recommended to arrive in the region a day before your ceremony and leave at least a day or two after. It just really helps you to focus more on your ceremony and make the most of it, rather than rushing through it.
The ceremony will start around 11:30 and lasts for about 4-6 hours. You facilitator will be with you at all times. You start in the ceremony room with headphones and an eyemask on, and as your journey progresses throughout the day, you can also go outside and enjoy the retreat's wonderful garden and the sunshine that the region of Alicante has to offer 320 days a year. This is all part of the therapeutic value of a retreat with us.
Once you start coming back down and feel hungry, your facilitator will serve snacks for you, and if you spend the night, there will be dinner when you are ready for that (breakfast is included too).
The retreat is a lovely, comfortable, fully renovated Spanish finca in the calm countryside, and you will be spending the night there on your own after the ceremony if you stay at the retreat. Some people don't like the idea of this at all, and for others it is a welcome, safe sanctuary from the business of the world and their everyday hectic lives in the city. So just do whatever feels right for you :)
If you have booked a hotel, you will be taken back there when you are ready, usually at around 18:00, and you will be able to get dinner wherever your accommodation is.
A pre and a post retreat call are included for us to talk about any concerns or questions you have when you have booked and once you have returned home to your normal rhythm after a powerful experience. If necessary, you can continue with any further integration needs with my wonderful co-facilitator (for group ceremonies) and integration coach, Preethi (https://www.preethisutton.com/).
This sums up what an individual psilocybin ceremony looks like with A New Day retreats in the beautiful region of Alicante, Spain.
